Our automated internet shop has a built in secure payment and ordering system using AddToCart buttons beside each item with absolutely secure payment using PayPal. You DO NOT need to sign up as a member of PayPal.
Payment:
We have found PayPal to be an excellent system both for us and the customer. However we can also accept payment OnLine by Credit and Debit Card - you will be offered this option once you have added items to the YourCart. If you would like to Pay by Cheque then please order by email or by post and we will invoice you.
Pay Pal: Purchasing using AddtoCart buttons
Clicking on an AddToCart button DOES NOT immediately purchase any item - the item is added to your own Shop Cart which you can access by clicking on any YourCart button. You can easily add and delete items from the Cart and the purchase price for each item will be shown.
When you are happy with your proposed purchases you then click the SecureCheckout button on the page accessed by the YourCart button. Payment is through the internationally recognised PayPal stystem - you DO NOT need to join PayPal in order to make a secure payment - you can use any widely accepted payment card - Visa, Master Card, Debit Card, Maestro, American Express etc. Postage and Packing charges are added before you proceed to complete the purchase.
Postage, Packing & VAT
All parcels and packets are sent 2nd class or Small Parcel rate in the UK; Air Mail (Large Letter or Small Parcel) to Europe and by Air Mail to the rest of the world. VAT is no longer charged on sales through this Springthyme website as we have deregistered for VAT as of August 2013.
CDs, LPs and Cassettes:
Postage is usually charged at £3.00 on sales up to £14.00. Larger orders may be charged more - the postage will be shown in Secure Checkout before you complete payment. You may be directed to BandCamp for export purchases
Books from Internet Bookshop:
Francis J Child's The English & Scottish Popular Ballads: Postage and packing is charged the same to UK, Europe and Worldwide. These may be supplied direct from the publisher in the USA or from Springthyme in Scotland. Orders for the complete five volume sets (either paper or cloth) are priced POST FREE to USA (only).
The new Bronson Traditional Tunes of the Child Ballad volumes are digitally printed from the original Princeton edition and can be sent worldwide - printed in both the USA and UK. The full set
is priced POST FREE to UK, Europe, USA and Canada. Postage charges for other Worldwide are indicated on the purchase page.
Browsers
We have redesigned the HOME page using Bootstrap technology that works preferentially for the smaller formats. We have tested out the website on a range of popular browsers on both Mac and PC. Links to SPRINGTHYME will take you to our older website where some pages are better suited to the larger formats.
Music Software
We have Sound Cloud music files on many CD pages and for this you may need to register with Sound Cloud. Browsers require suitable Plug-Ins to play mp3 music files. These usually come as part of a browser installation but you can obtain free updates from e.g. Quicktime. Many of our CD albums have been uploaded to BandCamp and all music files can be played FREE worldwide.
Currency Converter
 If you would like to know the approximate value of your order in your local currency then use the DropDown Menu beside each priced item or use the International Currency Converter to calculate the cost of your order in your own currency -- Dollars, Yen, Marks, Francs etc. etc. Just click on the logo. Your Card will be debited at the current conversion rates as determined by PayPal when you place your order.
