Aileen Carr
Aileen Carr was born and brought up in rural Perthshire, in a household which was musical, and she can’t remember a time when she didn’t sing. However, it was the excitement of being at the early Blairgowrie Festivals – and later at those at Kinross – which was the catalyst for what has become a lifelong affair with traditional music. Hearing people like Belle Stewart perform quickly set her on the path to becoming one of Scotland’s most expressive interpreters of traditional song. www.springthyme.co.uk |
