CLASSIC RE-ISSUE: John Watt & Davey Stewart - Shores of the Forth
The title song Shores of the Forth is one of the few songs on the album that was not written by John. Some of John's songs such as The Kelty Clippie and Pittenweem Jo have become folk classics.
King James VI of Scotland described Fife as a ‘beggar’s mantle fringed with gold’ and this inspired the name of the band - the Beggar's Mantle Ceildh Band - Jock Ritchie on fiddle, Jock Mullen on accordion, Robin McKidd on guitar and bass and Brian Miller on guitar and mandolin.

Gordon Easton is from the Blackhills of Tyrie near Fraserburgh, where his family has crofted for generations. He learned many of his old songs from his mother and grandmother and is well-known for his fiddle, jew’s harp and ‘moothie’ playing, not to mention his considerable skills as a ‘diddler’.
Iain McLachlan: An Island Heritage Iain McLachlan's music comes as fresh as the sea breezes wafting over the Uist machair - Highland and Gaelic as his island heritage. Includes his famous composition The Dark Island and many traditional tunes played with other island musicians on fiddle, button accordion, melodeon and goose. A highly praised gem.
